Verse 10-6

महर्षय: सप्त पूर्वे चत्वारो मनवस्तथा |

मद्भावा मानसा जाता येषां लोक इमा: प्रजा: || 6 ||

“Seven great sages existed before, as did Primeval Four and fourteen Manus. They were born from My mind and are the progenitors of this world’s population.”

Commentary:

Lord Krishna explains the origin of our ancestors. The Saptarishis are the ancient seers who played a significant role in the transmission of spiritual knowledge and the preservation of Vedic wisdom. The Manus are the progenitors and rulers of each Manvantara, the cosmic ages or epochs.


Lord Krishna reveals that these sages and Manus were born from His divine mind, indicating their elevated spiritual nature and close connection to Him. They are the progenitors of humanity and the custodians of spiritual knowledge. Through their wisdom and guidance, they have contributed to the growth and sustenance of the world’s population.
