Verse 13-31

यदा भूतपृथग्भावमेकस्थमनुपश्यति |

तत एव च विस्तारं ब्रह्म सम्पद्यते तदा || 31 ||

“When one perceives the manifold beings as rooted in the One and sees the proliferation of that One, then they attain union with Brāhman.”

Commentary

This verse highlights the realization of the ultimate truth and the attainment of union with Brāhman. It states that when an individual transcends the perception of multiplicity and recognizes the underlying unity of all beings, they attain a state of realization.

The world of beings appears diverse and separate due to the limitations of perception and the identification with individual forms. However, when one goes beyond these limitations and perceives the essential oneness that pervades all of creation, they gain a deep understanding of the underlying unity.

The verse suggests that by perceiving the manifold beings as rooted in the One, individuals expand their consciousness and gain a broader perspective of reality. They recognize that the apparent diversity is merely an expression of the underlying unity, and everything is interconnected.

The term “Brāhman” refers to the ultimate reality, the supreme cosmic consciousness that transcends all limitations. Attaining union with Brāhman signifies the realization of one’s true nature as inseparable from the ultimate reality. It is a state of oneness, where the individual self merges with the universal consciousness. This realization leads to a profound expansion of consciousness and a deeper understanding of the nature of existence.
