“O Arjuna, the spiritual fire ceremony of wisdom is superior to any material ritual. All action in its entirety is consummated in wisdom”

Commentary: The magnetic effect of Maya is very strong. Man is made to believe that life exists within the repetitive cycles of day and night. To stop the effect of these cycles, man must look beyond the material phenomena. All material rituals are focused with senses externally – adjusting the posture, planning puja schedules, chanting, decorating, offering ritual items into the fire and eating holy food. These are good symbolisms that remind us to perform inner sacrifice. Lord Krishna says spiritual fire ceremony is far better than material rituals because it focuses inward with closed eyes. When there is constant change outside and the mind is also reflecting hundreds of thoughts per minute, the calm essence behind the material changes cannot be felt. By withdrawing and offering sense desires into the fire of self-control within, the action, the cause and the karmic effects become one with God in complete wisdom.
