The Supreme Lord said, “O Partha, neither in this world nor in the next is there destruction for him. Indeed, my dear, one who performs virtuous deeds never ends in adversity.”
Commentary: Lord Krishna addresses Arjuna affectionately as Partha and gives assurance regarding the fate of those who perform virtuous deeds. He states that neither in this world (referring to the present life) nor in the next (referring to future lives) is there destruction or downfall for such individuals. The consequences of virtuous actions are always positive and beneficial, both in this life and beyond.
Those who lead a virtuous life, guided by moral principles and dedicated to the welfare of others, are protected and supported by divine grace. They are supported by the divine forces and shielded from the detrimental effects of negative karma or misfortunes. This verse serves as a reminder of the importance of leading a life filled with virtuous deeds and moral conduct. It offers encouragement to individuals to persevere in their righteous endeavors, as they are assured of protection and well-being. It instills faith and reassurance in the power of good deeds and assures that virtuous efforts will never go in vain.
