Verse 9-6

यथाकाशस्थितो नित्यं वायु: सर्वत्रगो महान् |

तथा सर्वाणि भूतानि मत्स्थानीत्युपधारय || 6 ||

“Just as the mighty wind, present everywhere, rests within space, similarly understand that all beings rest in Me.”

Commentary:

Lord Krishna uses the analogy of the wind and space to illustrate His omnipresence and the relationship between Himself and all beings. The wind is omnipresent and can be felt everywhere in the space. Similarly, Lord Krishna states that all beings, encompassing every living entity and creation, find their foundation and existence in Him. He is the ultimate substratum and source of all beings, providing them with the space to exist and the support for their existence. Just as the wind cannot exist independently without space, all beings are interconnected and dependent on the divine presence of God.

Earth, with its encompassing atmosphere, represents merely a fraction of the vast expanse of space. Beyond our immediate terrestrial surroundings, even the entire creation, with all its galaxies stars and planets, is insignificantly minuscule in comparison to the infinite space.

This verse emphasizes the inseparable relationship between the Supreme Being and His creation and highlights His all-pervading nature. The cosmic analogy invites contemplation on the transcendent nature of the divine, highlighting the limitations of human perception and the boundless reality in which the cosmic drama unfolds.
