Verse 1-16, Verse 1-17, Verse 1-18

अनन्तविजयं राजा कुन्तीपुत्रो युधिष्ठिर: |

नकुल: सहदेवश्च सुघोषमणिपुष्पकौ || 16||

काश्यश्च परमेष्वास: शिखण्डी च महारथ: |

धृष्टद्युम्नो विराटश्च सात्यकिश्चापराजित: || 17||

द्रुपदो द्रौपदेयाश्च सर्वश: पृथिवीपते |

सौभद्रश्च महाबाहु: शङ्खान्दध्मु: पृथक् पृथक् || 18 ||

“King Yudhishthira, the son of Kunti, blew the Anantavijaya conch shell. Nakula and Sahadeva blew the Sughosha and Manipushpaka conch shells, respectively. The mighty archer Kashi, the great chariot warrior Shikhandi, and the invincible Satyaki, all blew their respective conch shells. The king of Panchala, Draupada, and the sons of Draupadi, along with the powerful warrior Abhimanyu, all blew their conch shells.”

 

Commentary

These verses depict the scene where the warriors on the Pandava side, including Yudhishthira, Nakula, Sahadeva, Shikhandi, Dhrishtadyumna, Virata, Satyaki, Drupada, and the sons of Draupadi, blew their individual conch shells, creating powerful sounds that marked the beginning of the battle.
