“There, Arjuna could see on both sides of the armies – his fathers, grandfathers, teachers, uncles, brothers, sons, grandsons, friends and well-wishers, all arrayed for battle.”

Commentary

This is a turning point in the battle, as this is the moment when Arjuna begins to doubt the righteousness of the war. He sees his own family members, people he loves and respects, on both sides of the battlefield.

By highlighting the presence of these familiar faces on both sides of the battlefield, Krishna emphasizes the emotional complexity of the situation. Arjuna is now faced with the challenge of fighting against his own relatives, mentors, and loved ones.
