Verse 11-4

मन्यसे यदि तच्छक्यं मया द्रष्टुमिति प्रभो |

योगेश्वर ततो मे त्वं दर्शयात्मानमव्ययम् || 4 ||

“If You think that it is possible for me to see, O Lord, then kindly reveal Your imperishable form as the master of all mystic power.”

Commentary

Arjuna expresses his willingness and eagerness to witness the divine form of Krishna, but he acknowledges that it may not be within his capacity to perceive it. He humbly acknowledges Krishna as the master of all mystic power and seeks His permission to reveal His imperishable form.

Here, Arjuna recognizes his limitations as a mortal being and acknowledges that it is up to Krishna to grant him the ability to perceive His divine form. He surrenders to Krishna’s will and seeks His guidance in this matter.

Arjuna addresses Krishna as “Yogeshvara,” which means the master of all mystic power and the ultimate authority in the realm of yoga or spiritual practices. By using this term, Arjuna acknowledges Krishna’s supreme mastery over all aspects of yoga, including the ability to reveal His divine form.

This verse reflects Arjuna’s surrender and humility before Krishna. Arjuna acknowledges his own limitations and dependence on Krishna’s will. He understands that perceiving Krishna’s divine form is not solely dependent on his own efforts or capabilities but is a divine gift bestowed by Krishna’s grace. Arjuna’s request signifies his sincere longing for a deeper connection with the divine and his trust in Krishna’s supreme power.
