Commentary

Arjuna expresses his desire to witness the divine form of Lord Krishna as the Supreme Being, the ultimate manifestation of God. He acknowledges the previous teachings and revelations given by Krishna regarding His divine nature, and now he seeks to behold that form with his own eyes.

Arjuna addresses Krishna for the first time as “Parameshvara,” meaning the Supreme Lord or the Supreme Controller. He recognizes Krishna’s authority and supremacy over all beings and aspects of existence. Arjuna also refers to Krishna as “Purushottama,” which signifies the Supreme Person or the highest divine personality.

Arjuna expresses his longing to personally witness Krishna’s divine form, which encompasses His absolute, infinite, and all-encompassing nature. By using the term “evam etad yathattha,” Arjuna emphasizes his conviction in the truth and validity of Krishna’s teachings and revelations. He affirms that he genuinely desires to have a direct visual experience of Krishna’s divine form, which represents the highest manifestation of the Supreme Being.

Arjuna’s request signifies his readiness to witness the supreme reality and deepen his connection with the divine presence.
