I desire to behold You adorned with a crown, mace, and discus in Your hand, just as You are. O thousand-armed one, assume that four-armed form and reveal Yourself as the universal embodiment.”
Commentary
Arjuna expresses his desire to see Krishna in his divine form with all his divine attributes. Arjuna specifically mentions Krishna wearing a crown (kireeta), holding a mace (gada), and having a discus (chakra) in his hand. These are iconic symbols associated with Lord Vishnu, indicating his divine power and authority.
Arjuna expresses his longing to witness Krishna in his divine glory just as He is, without any modifications or concealments. He desires to behold Krishna in His original form, with four arms (chaturbhuja), representing his divine manifestations and cosmic presence.
By requesting Krishna to assume that four-armed form and reveal Himself as the universal embodiment, Arjuna acknowledges Krishna’s supreme divinity and His all-encompassing nature. He seeks to witness Krishna’s majestic and awe-inspiring form, which represents the totality of the universe and its divine manifestations.
