Commentary

Lord Krishna responds to Arjuna’s question about the superiority of different types of devotees. He explains that those who immerse their minds in Him and engage in continuous worship with unwavering devotion are considered the highest in yoga.

The phrase “mayyāveśya mano ye” refers to those devotees whose minds are absorbed in the Supreme Lord Krishna. They fix their attention, thoughts, and emotions solely on Him, maintaining a deep and unwavering connection. Their focus remains undisturbed amidst the challenges and distractions of the external world.

Lord Krishna further describes devotees as “nityayuktā,” who are continually engaged in His worship. Their devotion is not temporary or sporadic, but a constant practice that becomes an integral part of their daily lives. They prioritize their relationship with the Divine above all else and dedicate themselves to His service with steadfast commitment.

Additionally, Lord Krishna emphasizes the importance of “śraddhā” or supreme faith. The devoted individuals possess unwavering trust and belief in the Supreme Lord. Their faith is not merely superficial but deeply rooted in their hearts, guiding their thoughts, actions, and devotion towards Him. It is this unwavering faith that sustains and fuels their spiritual practice.

Lord Krishna, acknowledging their unwavering dedication and supreme faith, considers them to be the most accomplished in yoga. Their continuous union with the Divine through their unwavering devotion and faith makes them highly regarded in His eyes.

This verse highlights the significance of unwavering devotion, continuous engagement with the Divine, and unshakeable faith as the qualities that elevate a devotee to the highest level of spiritual attainment.
