Arjun said, “O Keshava, I wish to understand the nature of Prakṛiti and Puruṣha, Kṣhetra and Kṣhetrajña. I wish to know about true knowledge and the goal of this knowledge.”
Commentary
Arjuna’s words reflect his deep curiosity and eagerness to gain knowledge and understanding of the fundamental aspects of existence. He seeks to comprehend the nature of Prakriti and Purusha.
Arjuna expresses his desire to know about the field of activities (kshetra), which and the knower of the field (kshetrajna). Arjuna seeks profound knowledge and insights about these concepts from Lord Krishna, recognizing Him as the ultimate source of wisdom.
