“The Supreme Lord said: I shall now explain the supreme knowledge, the best of all knowledge, knowing which all the enlightened sages have attained supreme perfection”
Commentary
Lord Krishna speaks to Arjuna, promising to impart the highest wisdom. He refers to it as the “supreme knowledge” or “knowledge of knowledge.” It is the ultimate understanding that leads to spiritual enlightenment and the attainment of the highest perfection. The significance of the verse lies in the assurance that this supreme knowledge has been known and realized by all the enlightened sages throughout time. It implies that by acquiring and assimilating this knowledge, one can tread the same path that these great beings have followed, ultimately attaining the highest perfection or realization.
