कच्चिदज्ञानसम्मोह: प्रनष्टस्ते धनञ्जय || 72 ||

“O Partha (Arjuna), have you listened to this with focused mind? Has your delusion born of ignorance been destroyed, O Dhananjaya (Arjuna)?”

Commentary

Lord Krishna addresses Arjuna as Partha and Dhananjaya, which are alternative names for Arjuna. He asks whether Arjuna has listened to the teachings with a focused mind, indicating the importance of attentiveness and concentration while receiving spiritual knowledge.

Additionally, Lord Krishna questions whether Arjuna’s ignorance-induced delusion has been dispelled. This delusion refers to the confusion and lack of clarity Arjuna experienced before the teachings were imparted. The question implies whether Arjuna has gained a deeper understanding and clarity about his duties and the nature of reality.

By posing these questions, Lord Krishna seeks to assess Arjuna’s level of comprehension and the impact of the teachings on his state of mind. It prompts Arjuna to reflect on his own understanding and progress in overcoming his doubts and confusion.
