यस्य सर्वे समारम्भा: कामसङ्कल्पवर्जिता: | ज्ञानाग्निदग्धकर्माणं तमाहु: पण्डितं बुधा: || 19 || |

“The sages call those people wise, whose every action is free from the desire for material pleasures and whose activities are purified in the fire of divine knowledge.”
Commentary The wise devotee has a clear understanding about the temporary nature of his experience in the material world through the senses. He studies deeply and firmly establishes in his mind that this world and all the possessions will exist in his experience for a brief period of time. After careful analysis, he observes that this body, which is a composite of flesh and bones, has something else running through – the powers of Will, Imagination, Reason and Emotion. These powers cannot be seen in the physical body but the devotee experiences the source of these powers that courses through his mud of flesh.
