“But ignorant people who do not have devotion and who are of a doubting nature, suffer a downfall. For the skeptical souls, there is no happiness either in this world or the next.”
Commentary:
Millions of people spend their lives without feeling the pain of their own ignorance. ‘Live to enjoy’ is the only motto by which many people live and die. Complacency and skepticism are primary obstacles to real peace and happiness. People who lead such lives react to situations and other people quickly, expect swift results, draw conclusions immediately, run a ‘mile in a minute’, believe that they have final answers, do not have an open-mind to seek, do not sustain in relationships, seek immediate admiration and approval, do not have accountability, judge a book by the cover, drift from one Guru to another, and are perfectly happy to know that they know ‘how the world works’.
The Supreme Intelligence is incomprehensible to human intellect that wavers between cause and effect. How can the unborn and causeless One be understood with a rational mind?
There are infinite mysteries in the world. Scientists and doctorates who have dived deep into a subject have realized the vastness of their own ignorance. We can see humility in such people. Take any subject in the world and begin with the question “why”, ask this question continuously and finding an answer after the fifth level of ‘why’ typically leads to the existential question. Here is an example – 1. ‘why does it rain?’, 2. ‘why evaporation occurs?, 3-‘why does the sun exist?, 4-‘why does earth exist?’, 5. ‘why is the world created?’. The answer to the ‘why’ of creation can only be given by the Creator. Skeptics can never be happy with a conclusion about the ever-new Infinite. True satisfaction will come only with Divine Experience.
