“The knower of God, abiding in the Supreme Being, with unwavering discrimination, free from delusion, is neither jubilant at pleasant experiences nor downcast by unpleasant experiences.”

Commentary : The saint who realizes the reality of existence works for a goal that embraces everyone’s well-being. He does not take life as it comes without proactive efforts to mold his destiny. On this ambitious journey, he knows there will be ups and downs, pleasant and unpleasant experiences, because they are all temporary. The self-realized devotee knows that he is a particle of God’s light enclosed within a body and a mind. He does not pray for a long life because he is already eternal. He does not pray for health because he is already immortal and perfect. He does not pray for wealth because the whole universe is his treasure. He does not pray for joy, peace or bliss because his very nature expresses these qualities. He does not pray for strength because he feels God’s mighty power activating his consciousness. He does not pray for purity because all karmic debts have been paid to Nature through his body and mind. He does not pray for grace because he experiences unity with God. The realized devotee is free from delusion of dualities and safe in the living presence of Blissful God.
