“When the mind is restrained through the practice of yoga, then the yogi perceives and rejoices in the inner Self”.
Commentary: Nature’s Supreme Intelligence is already operating in the body and mind, however human intelligence is not aligned to Nature. Nature operates perfectly and rebalances continuously because It has the Intelligence and also the Power to implement. The human mind is fantastic but it has several limitations. It can understand, reason, infer, simulate computational models of nature and draw conclusions but it cannot comprehend life beating in the heart of a sparrow or growing in a small invisible seed. Human mind can appreciate the beauty of a flying bird but it cannot feel the power that the bird is experiencing in its wings. We cannot experience something that is happening outside our body and mind. Our personal experiences are very limited and they accumulate only as long as the body exists.
We cannot restrain something that is limitless, so Indian saints have discovered the secret of experiencing all life at once. It is a myth to think that experiencing life is all about eating, traveling, meeting, partying and doing as many things as possible with the senses. The secret is entirely different and opposite! Saints have given us yoga to practice restraining the limited mind slowly, so that in the winter of life, one can experience complete life within and outside. Until man finds himself in everything outside his body and mind, he will not rest! After withdrawing and gaining control of the mind, he will rejoice in the inner wisdom.
