Verse 6-28

युञ्जन्नेवं सदात्मानं योगी विगतकल्मष: |

सुखेन ब्रह्मसंस्पर्शमत्यन्तं सुखमश्नुते || 28 ||

“Thus always practicing union with God, the yogi becomes free from sinful delusion and attains the highest bliss resulting from contact with Brahman.”

Commentary: The fundamental sin man commits is to identify his essential nature as the gross physical body. Practicing union with God through various religious and metaphysical processes purifies the subtle consciousness. There are two types of purificatory processes and these are physical and vibratory in nature. The environment at home or at a temple is kept clean by removing the dust. The physical body is given a bath to keep it clean.

The case with mind and heart is different. These manifestations also collect dust daily from external impressions and influences in the process of interacting with people, traveling to places, experiencing climatic conditions and other environmental factors. However, as the mind and heart are intangible they can be cleaned by bringing them to a higher state of vibration. This is where deep scriptural studies, holy chants, yoga, introspection and meditation help in purification.

The devotee discards the sinful delusion that he is the body through such practices and attains bliss in God.
