Verse 8-21

अव्यक्तोऽक्षर इत्युक्तस्तमाहु: परमां गतिम् |

यं प्राप्य न निवर्तन्ते तद्धाम परमं मम || 21 ||

“That Unmanifest realm is My Supreme Abode and upon reaching this goal, one never returns to this mortal world.”

Commentary: Lord Krishna elaborates on the nature of the Unmanifested reality, referring to it as “avvyakta” (Unmanifested) and “akshara” (imperishable). He states that this Unmanifested aspect of existence is the ultimate destination and highest attainment. It is God’s supreme abode, where He exists in full divinity. It is the greatest dwelling place, beyond the transient material world. By reaching this supreme abode, one attains the highest state of spiritual realization and union with the Divine.

The verse emphasizes the need to shift one’s focus from the ephemeral and ever-changing world to the eternal and unchanging reality.

Activity

Close your eyes, lift up your gaze at the middle of the eyebrows. Have a single purpose to focus on the source of your breath. During this process, different thoughts of past, future and present sensations from the senses will arise. If you maintain focus on the purpose, all thoughts and feelings will continuously manifest and unmanifest, drawing you closer and closer to the realm of the true eternal Unmanifested state.
