“By the practice the Yoga of constant remembrance and with an undistracted mind, Arjuna, one attains the supreme, divine personality.”
Commentary: Lord Krishna advises Arjuna on the path to spiritual realization through the practice of Yoga, the Yoga of constant remembrance. He tells Arjuna that by disciplining the mind and directing it towards the divine, without allowing it to wander towards other objects of distractions, one can attain the highest state of consciousness and experience the divine.
The mind is naturally restless and tends to wander toward various sensory objects and worldly distractions. It runs continuously with internal media files – visuals, sounds, chats, memories, anxieties of past, present or future. Behind closed eyes and beneath the layer of thoughts, feelings and will, the dark truth that an ignorant person can feel is that he is just a piece of consciousness staring blankly at complete darkness within. All other media files are reflections and reactions! When a devotee stills the mind and goes beneath the disturbing vibrations of heart and blood circulation, he can feel with a receptive heart that he has touched the great Consciousness of God who is ever present inside. The devotee will know ultimately that he and every other being is a loving, intelligent vibrating energy wearing a temporary desire-body and floating on the surface of a Universal Vibrating Intelligence.
Through constant remembrance and contemplation, one can establish a deep connection with this divine essence and realize their true nature.
