God is ancient, primeval, and beyond human comprehension (achintyarūpam). God is the sustainer of all existence and possesses a radiant form akin to the brilliance of the sun. The phrase “tamasaḥ parastāt” signifies that God is beyond the darkness of ignorance, representing the transcendent reality that is beyond the material realm.
Lord Krishna explains the process of attaining the Divine Being at the time of departure, referring to the moment of death or the ultimate journey of the soul. It is emphasized that a focused and unwavering mind is essential during this critical juncture. By channeling one’s devotion and merging the mind with the divine through yogic practices, the devotee directs life force (prana) to the center of the eyebrows, known as the spiritual eye.
