Verse 9-4

मया ततमिदं सर्वं जगदव्यक्तमूर्तिना |

मत्स्थानि सर्वभूतानि न चाहं तेष्ववस्थित: || 4 ||

“This entire universe is pervaded by Me, in My unmanifested form. All beings exist in Me, but I am not situated in them.”

Commentary:

Lord Krishna explains the relationship between Himself, the manifest and unmanifested aspects of the universe, and all living beings. He declares that the entire universe, in its manifested form is pervaded by His divine Unmanifested presence. He refers to Himself as the ‘avyakta-murtina’, the unmanifested Spirit, which signifies His transcendental and all-pervading nature.

He further states that all beings, including humans, animals, plants, and every living entity, exist within Him. They are sustained and supported by His divine energy and consciousness. Every individual is connected to the divine source, but the divine is not limited or confined to any specific being or form.

Lord Krishna clarifies that although all beings exist within Him, He is not limited or situated within them. He transcends the limitations of physical existence and is beyond the boundaries of individual beings. He pervades the universe while simultaneously transcending it.

By understanding this profound truth, one can develop a sense of unity and reverence for all living beings. It inspires individuals to see the divine presence in everything and cultivate a deeper connection with the universal consciousness.
