Just as moths rush into a blazing fire
for their own destruction, driven by their desire,
similarly, these people also rush into Your mouths
for their own destruction, driven by their actions.
In these verses, Arjuna compares the movement of the warriors entering Krishna’s mouths to the flow of rivers into the ocean and moths rushing into a fire.
Just as many rivers flow into the ocean with their vigorous currents, merging and disappearing into the vast expanse of the ocean, the brave warriors of the world, driven by their destiny, their actions, and the flow of time, enter into Krishna’s mouths. Similarly, just as moths are attracted to a blazing fire and rush into it, unaware of their impending destruction, these people also rush into Krishna’s mouths. Their actions, driven by their desires, attachments, and misguided beliefs, lead them towards their own downfall and destruction.

The warriors, driven by their own ambitions, attachments, and enmity, are bound by their karmic destinies and are led towards their ultimate fate.
