Verse 11-34

द्रोणं च भीष्मं च जयद्रथं च

कर्णं तथान्यानपि योधवीरान् |

मया हतांस्त्वं जहि मा व्यथिष्ठा

युध्यस्व जेतासि रणे सपत्नान् || 34 ||

“Defeat Drona, Bhishma, Jayadratha, Karna, and the other mighty warriors on the battlefield. They have already been slain by Me. Do not be disturbed. Fight and you will conquer your enemies in battle.”

Commentary:
Lord Krishna instructs Arjuna to defeat prominent warriors like Drona, Bhishma, Jayadratha, Karna, and others who stand against him. Krishna reminds Arjuna that these warriors have already been destined to be slain by His divine arrangement. He encourages Arjuna not to be distressed or emotionally affected by the prospect of fighting them.

Krishna affirms Arjuna that victory is already assured and urges him to engage in the battle without hesitation or fear. He reminds Arjuna of his skill as a warrior and his potential to emerge victorious over his adversaries. Krishna emphasizes that Arjuna should focus on fulfilling his duty and fighting with determination, knowing that he will conquer his enemies on the battlefield.

The verse highlights the divine intervention at the commencement of the battle. Krishna reveals that He has already orchestrated the defeat of these formidable warriors. He instills confidence in Arjuna, assuring him that success is guaranteed. Krishna’s message to Arjuna is to let go of doubts and to fulfill his role as a warrior without hesitation.

These qualities enable a devotee to act fearlessly and confidently in fulfilling his duties, knowing that the outcome is ultimately determined by a higher power.
