“Those who surrender all their actions to Me, considering Me as the supreme goal, meditating on Me with unwavering devotion through exclusive yogic practices—I swiftly deliver them from the ocean of birth and death, O Partha, for their minds are firmly absorbed in Me.”

Commentary

Lord Krishna emphasizes the significance of surrendering all actions to Him and cultivating unwavering devotion through focused meditation. He assures that those who dedicate their actions to Him, considering Him as the ultimate purpose of their lives, and engage in sincere yogic practices with undivided attention, will be swiftly liberated from the cycle of birth and death.

Performing right actions in the best interest of family, society, country, and the world is your duty, but the outcomes are determined by God. ‘Doing’ is your work and ‘happening’ is God’s work. The devotee understands that it is only God who acts through him, and he is merely an instrument of the divine will. He does not identify with his actions, including any sense of ownership or attachment to the results. Instead, he offers all his actions to God and readily participates, leaving the rest to God’s will.

A mere inclination towards surrendering every action to the divine brings forth a modest yet impactful measure of divine grace. Krishna, addressing Arjuna as Partha, assures that He will rescue those whose minds are completely absorbed in Him. These verses highlight the power of surrender, devotion, and the transformative effects of union with the Divine.
