“Offer your mind to Me, make Me the focus of your intellect. You will undoubtedly reside in Me alone, and there is no doubt about it.”
Lord Krishna advises Arjuna to surrender himself and focus his intellect to understanding Him. By doing so, Arjuna will establish a deep connection with the divine and find refuge in the eternal presence of the Lord.
A true devotee is not someone who just shows up for work. He approaches his tasks with a heart full of service, a willingness to be an instrument for good. He understands that his contribution, big or small, plays a part in a larger purpose.
There will be times when doubt creeps in, moments when the task seems overwhelming. But a true devotee does not crumble under the weight of self-limitation. Instead, he draws strength from his belief. He trusts that God has equipped him with the skills and resources needed to make a positive impact. He does not become passive, waiting for divine intervention. On the contrary, he works tirelessly, pouring his heart and soul into his endeavors.
A true devotee also understands that he is not alone. He carries the burdens of his work, but he does not carry them alone. He lays those burdens at the feet of the divine, trusting that God will provide guidance, strength, and ultimately, the outcome. This frees him from the crushing weight of worry, allowing him focus on what he can control – his effort, his dedication, and the spirit of service he brings to every task.
In essence, a true devotee becomes a conduit for God’s work in the world. He acts properly, not out of fear or self-interest, but with a heart full of faith and a willingness to be a vessel for something larger than himself. Lord Krishna promises that such a devotee will certainly become one with Him.
