“Under no circumstances should the wise disturb the understanding of ignorant people. Instead, the illumined being, by conscientiously performing activities, should inspire in the ignorant a desire for dutiful actions.”

Commentary

Leading by example is the best way to inspire others and bring real change. A leader not only shows the path but walks the talk. When habits are deeply ingrained, any advice is resisted by the ego that immediately comes to the rescue of habit. Advice from well-wishers, rituals and charities may help a little but only the person’s determination will bring lasting change and open the divine channel to receive blessings . Many prophets and leaders have dedicated and sometimes lost their lives to bring change in people. However the common man has also displayed equal tenacity to hold on to his habits. A person convinced against his will is of the same opinion still!

Again and again, great leaders and prophets will come as long as a single soul is lost. Through their exemplary lives, teachings and achievements, they will continue to inspire people. Their aim is not to belittle or disturb the peace of people but to sow a small seed of spiritual desire, that perhaps it may grow and take deep roots in the heart. God works secretly and silently behind the scenes to awaken people through whispers of conscience and intuition. How can one live or even have the power to think without the hidden magic? If God reveals Himself to everyone, the illusory world will end immediately so He and His realized devotees calmly work and wait eternally for a sincere soul call from the heart of a devotee crying and praying in solitude for His love.
