“Those with limited understanding perceive Me, who is unmanifest, as having manifestation. They are unaware of My supreme, imperishable, and transcendental nature.”
Commentary: Lord Krishna highlights the misconception of those with limited intelligence or spiritual discernment. He states that such individuals perceive Him, the Supreme Being, as having a form or limited existence. They are unable to comprehend His true exalted nature, which is beyond the manifest world, imperishable and supreme.
The Supreme Being’s true essence is unmanifest, eternal, and infinite. Only those who possess higher spiritual knowledge and realization can comprehend Him.
The verse underscores the importance of developing spiritual wisdom and deepening one’s understanding to perceive the true nature of the Divine before the manifestation of galaxies and universes. It highlights the limitations of intellect and the need for spiritual growth to transcend the realm of material appearances and gain insight into the eternal and immutable aspect of the Supreme.
