Verse 9-34

मन्मना भव मद्भक्तो मद्याजी मां नमस्कुरु |

मामेवैष्यसि युक्त्वैवमात्मानं मत्परायण: || 34 ||

“Always think of Me, become My devotee, worship Me, and offer your homage unto Me. Thus you will come to Me without fail. I promise you this because you are My very dear friend.” 

Commentary: Lord Krishna urges Arjuna and all sincere seekers to cultivate a deep connection with Him through their thoughts, actions, and devotion. The verse contains four important instructions:

mat-manāḥ (“Always think of Me”): Lord Krishna encourages the practice of constantly keeping Him in one’s thoughts. By cultivating a continuous remembrance of the Divine, one establishes a strong spiritual connection and develops a deep sense of devotion.

Bhava mad-bhakto (“Become My devotee”): Lord Krishna emphasizes the significance of devotion. Being a devotee means developing love, surrender, and a sense of dedication towards the Supreme. It involves aligning one’s desires and actions with the Divine will.

mad-yājī (“Worship Me”): Worship refers to the act of expressing reverence and adoration towards the Supreme. It can take various forms such as prayer, rituals, meditation, or any sincere act of offering and service to the Divine. Worship helps to purify the heart and deepen the connection with the Divine.

māṁ namaskuru (“Offer your homage unto Me”): Paying homage implies showing respect, honor, and gratitude towards the Supreme. It involves recognizing the greatness, love, and mercy of the Divine and expressing it through acts of reverence and surrender.

Lord Krishna assures that by following these instructions and practicing devotion with sincerity, one will undoubtedly attain Him. He guarantees the culmination of the spiritual journey, promising that those who are devoted to Him will ultimately reach His divine abode.

This verse highlights the power of devotion and the intimate relationship between the devotee and the Divine. It reveals the path to liberation and union with the Supreme by consistently remembering, worshipping, and surrendering to the Lord.

This verse encourages individuals to cultivate a deep connection with the Divine through constant remembrance, devotion, worship, and surrender.
